On 17th October 2025, I said goodbye to my grandad.

One of those full-stop moments.
Heavy. Important. Bigger than business.

That day, I was meant to be at an awards ceremony. VA Newcomer of the Year. A finalist. I should’ve been excited, nervous, maybe even picking at a posh canapé.

Instead, I was 300+ miles away. Holding grief in one hand and disbelief in the other.

And the next day, I found out I hadn’t won.

A few months ago? That would’ve gutted me.
But grief… grief picks up your priorities, pops them in a snow globe, and gives it a good hard shake.

And do you know what settled once the snow cleared?

Gratitude.

Not the smug, Pinterest-quote kind. Just a quiet noticing of what’s already good. What’s already here.

No trophy. But everything that matters.

That shift didn’t come out of nowhere.
A few weeks earlier, I’d had a group coaching call with Nicole Louise Winer and gratiude came up. From that day I really did look around.

A business that supports my family and me, not just financially, but emotionally.
Clients who trust me. Collaborators who light me up. Cheerleaders who remind me I’m not alone (even when I’m quietly wobbling in a corner of self-doubt).

Support that feels spacious, not stiff.
Work that feels personal, not performative.
And a sense of confidence, quiet, grounded, that no glass award could ever give me.

Though, for the record, the only other glass one I own is shoved in a cupboard, trying not to get smashed by a small human.

What’s this got to do with being a Strategic Virtual Assistant?

Everything.

Because yes, I’m here for tidy folders and colour-coded inboxes. (Give me a system and I will pet it.)

But really? It’s about how supported you feel while running your business.

You can have the best branding.
The most beautiful website.
Automations so clever they make you feel like James Bond.

And still feel flat.
Still feel like you’re clinging on by your fingernails.
Still wake up thinking, “How am I supposed to do all this?”

That’s where the right support makes a difference.

When someone steps in, takes the mental load, and lightens the day-to-day.

When your admin no longer feels like an emotional sandbag.

When you have someone on your side who gets it…and gets it done.

That’s when your business starts to feel like yours again.
Grounded. Spacious. Even joyful, yes, even on the hard days.

No big CTA. Just this:

❤️ You don’t have to do it all alone.
❤️ You deserve to feel properly supported in your business.
❤️ And if you’re looking for someone in your corner — I’m here.

Hot water bottle at the ready.
A spreadsheet in one tab, and a giggle when we can manage it.

That day in October will always be marked in my heart for the worst reason.
But I’m grateful I had so many years with my grandad.
He beamed with pride for his family, again and again.

And we’ll carry on his legacy, by never giving up.
Even on the days that break your heart a little.
