A few months ago, I was in that familiar spiral: Googling “feminine WordPress theme” while eating toast over my laptop. Again.

I’d built my first WordPress site using the Kadence theme and a DIY effort. And listen, it did the job. It was functional. Sensible. Like a perfectly average cup of tea.

But it was missing something. You know… je ne sais quoi (Did I spell that right? Don’t answer.)

Anyway, one late-night scroll led me to 17th Avenue Designs, and before I knew it, I’d impulse-bought the Charlotte theme like it was a packet of Percy Pigs at the till.

Next thing you know, it’s 11pm, and I’m elbows-deep in theme installation, grinning like a madwoman because… this theme? It’s gorgeous.

What I Love About the Charlotte Theme

  • It’s clean, polished and stylish – Think minimal but not boring. Feminine but not frilly.
  • The setup guides are honestly brilliant – Even as a non-designer, I didn’t feel overwhelmed. Everything’s clearly explained.
  • It made me excited about my website again – I started polishing old blog posts and updating freebies!
  • It’s flexible and customisable – I changed the colours to suit me, but you can swap fonts and tweak layouts too. Think of it like a beautiful framework to build on, not a rigid template you have to squeeze into.

Basically, it gave me that rare mix of clarity and confidence. Like when you finally get a haircut that makes your cheekbones pop.

If You’re Drowning in Theme Overwhelm…

I see you. It’s a whole world of sliders, colour palettes, and “demo imports” that never look the way you thought they would.

But if you want something beautiful, user-friendly, and created by people who clearly know what they’re doing, I genuinely recommend checking out 17th Avenue Designs.

They’ve got loads of lovely themes, but the Charlotte one hit the sweet spot for me. And they have so many gorgeous designs for different types of businesses—it’s definitely worth a browse.

And because I loved it so much, I reached out and signed up to be an affiliate (transparency hats on).

If you buy via my affiliate link, it won’t cost you a thing, but I may earn a small thank-you from the brand. And I’ll probably spend it on more fonts. Or biscuits.

Final Thought: Sometimes a Theme Isn’t Just a Theme

Sometimes it’s the thing that makes you fall back in love with your business. That gives you a little momentum. That reminds you that you can create something that feels like you.

This theme did that for me. And if you’re circling the WordPress theme drainpipe, it might just do it for you too.
