UK VA Awards 2025
I’m a Semi-Finalist for Best Newcomer VA!
This one is actually in pretty good shape already. Same treatment as the finalist post — personal, emotional, moment in time. The CTA at the bottom is decent and the link to VA services is already there.
Main fixes are the emojis, the bullet list, and one small addition of a Waffle & Write link since this post is specifically talking to people who are overwhelmed and doubting themselves, which is the perfect Waffle & Write audience.
Here’s the rewrite:
UK VA Awards 2025: I’m a Semi-Finalist for Best Newcomer VA!
A little love letter to the messy middle.
A milestone I never expected, and a reminder that even the wobbliest journeys can lead somewhere brilliant.
Being a sole business owner isn’t easy. It’s stretched me more than I ever thought possible.
There have been late nights. There have been tears. There have been moments I doubted myself so much I wasn’t even sure I knew my own name.
Still Lily. Lilster. Lil’. MUMMMM.
But those moments?
They lit a fire in my belly.
Deep down, I’m determined. This journey’s given me confidence, and taught me more about myself than I ever expected.
What I do (and why I love it)
I keep things simple.
I treat your business like it’s mine. I bring warmth to everyone I meet, even if we never work together. I champion high standards in the VA industry, because we are bloody mighty.
I didn’t expect to fall in love with this work the way I have. But I’m so glad I did.
I’m a Semi-Finalist in the UK VA Awards 2025
Best Newcomer VA of the Year.
Honestly? Still a bit gobsmacked.
Thank you to Amanda Johnson for hosting the awards and the conference, and for shining such a generous light on the VA industry. You’ve created something really special.
To my clients, the quiet legends who trust me with your businesses every day — thank you. You make it all worth it.
And to past-me, hiding behind a laptop wondering if this was all a bit too much… look at you now.
If you’re in the thick of it right now
This bit’s for you.
If you’re lying awake at 2am wondering if you’re cut out for this… If your inbox is full but your confidence isn’t… If you’re in that too-hard, too-heavy, “maybe I should just get a job” headspace…
Take this as your quiet sign to keep going.
Because you never know what email might land in your inbox next.
And if what you need right now isn’t a pep talk but someone to actually help you make sense of the mess — that’s exactly what Waffle & Write is for. A focused session where you talk, I listen, and we turn whatever’s swirling into a proper written summary you can actually do something with and walk away with a clear brain.
