The only thing I want landing through my letterbox these days is a nice surprise.

Not tax.
Not bills.
Not a passive-aggressive note from the DVLA.

So when a brown envelope arrived and didn’t make my stomach drop? That felt like progress.

Inside: a framed certificate.

Not a bill. Not a fine.
Just a few kind words saying I’d been Highly Commended in a VA awards programme run by the Strategic PA Network.

For an award I nearly didn’t enter.

And yes…that’s lovely. But this isn’t about the certificate.

It’s about what it reminded me of.

You don’t need the loudest VA. You need the right one.

You know what no one saw?

The one-minute video I had to record as part of entering. Me. Talking. On camera.

Awkward doesn’t even cover it.

You know what else no one saw?

The years before that. Where I quietly built a business.
Supported clients through growth, mess, pivots, launches, panics.
Sorted digital chaos, reports, AI prompts, websites, workflows.
Did the work that doesn’t always show up on the surface, but keeps everything moving underneath.

That’s the bit I’m proud of.

And that’s the bit I think you’ll care about, if you’re looking for a VA.

Because if you’re here, you probably don’t want…

❌ A flashy “thought leader” who talks more than they listen
❌ Someone who adds to the noise instead of clearing it
